Beware of Spoilers: So, we went online, found the movie, “The Thing”. Hooked it up to the tv and watched it. Thought it was alright, for a horror movie. I still have a feeling there was an older version of this movie though, with the somewhat the same plot. Weird but I kind of laughed at some parts throughout the movie lol. Graphics we’re alright, at some part, the graphics were too good, made it look like a video game with a 3d model. Plot was alright. Started off pretty creepy, finding this creature stuck in this giant block of ice. But then the Scientist or whatever, the dude that recruited Kate and that other weird dude to go to Antartica to help out was dumb enough to take a tissue sample. Why the hell would you take a tissue sample of some unknown creature that landed on Earth with this giant spaceship. That was just dumb, I’m happy he didn’t survive. Stupid people never live lol. As for Kate, she survived the whole thing because she was smart and she was extremely cautious. She figured out how to determine which person was “the thing” by checking the fillings in teeth since “the thing” could not replicate inorganic elements. Or something like that, it’s beginning to slip out of mind despite the fact that I just watched it. So they isolated the people that could not prove they were human by doing that. Since they were going to do a test but someone destroyed the lab. Pretty chaotic. People ended up fighting themselves. Thought it was alright. Eventually the four guys that got isolated to the corner were actually human. So long story short, everyone else died except the guy who drove the helicopter (forgot his name) and kate lived. The other dude who got infected started driving off. So kate and the guy had to jump start one of the vehicles to go chase after him or else he would have been able to take the spaceship and left. So they had to jumpstart the car since they had a quarantine procedure and cut off all the vehicles to prevent anyone from escaping, then they started isolating themselves. Good stuff. So then, the alien bug looking, nasty thing got into the space ship. Started it up, Kate fell into a hole because the space ship was getting ready to take off. She found the thing and the dude started looking for her. He was walking and he starts hearing sound, that’s the end of him. So kate and the monster fights. Kate owns the monster, was pretty epic lol. It wasn’t scary but it was intense. So then Kate throws the grenade into the alien’s mouth, or monster. Don’t know why I said monster… but yeah. So then I’m like hmmm, the guy shows up after Kate throws the grenade into the monster’s mouth. So I told my roomie, he’s infected or whatever. Like the thing killed him. The thing was like this alien which replicated human cells, so it could entirely replicate a human being and you wouldn’t know but it couldn’t replicate any inorganic materials such as fillings and earrings. I remember that the dude had an earing on his left ear. So, the dude comes out and was all like, let’s go to the station 50 miles from here, we can contact people for help. Then Kate was all suspicious, told the dude that she’ll put the flamethrower in the back because the guy was holding on the flamethrower and now he’s in the driver seat. So she said, you don’t have your earing anymore. Then the guy was all confused, touched the wrong ear. She said it was your right ear or something. Then Kate burns him. Then kate goes into the other vehicle that they were chasing intially and just sat there for a while. The end. It was alright, I don’t think they can have a second part to it, now that everyone’s dead except Kate the smart lady. Sorry for the horrible analysis and summary/ thoughts lol. And somewhat horrible spelling and grammar. Pretty sure I made some mistakes there.
P.S. The thing was kind of like a virus I guess, took people as hosts and whatnot in order to survive the cold? I think. They didn’t really mention the thing not being able to survive the cold or not.
